Leaf-Cutting Bees

The leaf-cutting bee removes circular or elliptical segments from the margins of the leaves of trees and shrubs - particularly roses. These leaf pieces are used by the bees to build their nests.

Control

Bees are excellent pollinators and highly beneficial to the garden, and so any form of control is highly discouraged. Although they may cause damage to leaves, this is rarely sufficient to affect the plant as a whole.
